Sam Fieldhouse

Education and Outreach

Chair: Interpretation and Education Committee

I have been a trustee of the London Museum of Water and Steam since January 2014. Following my training as an English specialist primary teacher I started my career in heritage on the education team at Fishbourne Roman Palace. I spent three years as Learning and Participation Officer at Chichester District Museum where the learning programme I created won the Sanford Award for excellence in heritage education.

Whilst living in Chichester I undertook some freelance work, including developing the learning aspects of the Coultershaw Beam Pump HLF bid. In 2012 I moved to the National Jazz Archive implementing the Learning and Participation elements of the Archive’s three year HLF funded audience development project. My current role is with the Royal National Lifeboat institution (RNLI) as Youth Education Manager for South East England and the organisation’s nationwide heritage learning programme.
